Decent Overview - Too Few Specifics July 31, 2010 Edward J. Barton (Mill Creek, WA) The book itself isn't too bad. It gives the general overview of fasting - including water fasting - before diving into juice fasting. THere are good discussions about the risks, the approaches, the effects and the fasting lifestyle. So, wht 3 stars? There are no recepies and while there is a good general discussion, there aren't a lot of specifics around the how to transition on and off the fast. It's a decent motivational book, a good overview book, but will leave you needing to buy other books to actually fast - and that is the reason for the 3 star rating.
Great Read, Very Informative July 19, 2010 HealthQuest I've been juicing for some years now, and my longest juicing was over 30 days. Although I'm not new to this, reading this book was very insightful and informative. I wish I had read it before prior to being introduced to juicing. It's an easy read and straightfoward, which I can enjoy. This is a must in anyone's collection of health books.
No recipes June 1, 2010 Darani Blade (Danger, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was bummed there were hardly any recipes (like about 8 of them). It is more informational about fasting, the benefits of juice, etc.
I would send it back but it is not worth the hassle.
BEST BOOK & BEST SELLERS EVER!!!!! June 1, 2010 westyj (Connecticut, USA) I am just starting to explore the world of juicing & raw foods & I am so happy to have stumbled upon these sellers & this book. The book was loaded with great juicing/fasting & detoxing information that is very easy to follow & the sellers have been so generous & made my experience with them a personal one. They seem truly concerned with their customers & offered any help that I might need. It was so refreshing to me that in this world today with so much selfishness & greed that there are still good people that only want to help, guide & share their knowledge with others. They have renewed my hope in people. I really appreciated the personal note that was sent with the book & how they shared their personal experience as encouragement to others. I think that they are a great husband/wife team & wish them the very best. A high quality book from exceptional people!! I really appreciate the experience & would recommend them & this book totally!!
If you';re off into fasting then this is the one May 12, 2010 Patrick Sadler (Atlanta, GA USA) I'm into the health food movement like a lot of people nowdays. Unfortunately most books and programs don't cover all of the many ways to get and stay healthy. Although the above book listed is an excellent resource. It's like most authors and programs are trying to be too pc (politically correct). To correct myself a little, most health advice, programs, books and supplements usually offer pretty good advice these days. You know:
1. Don't alcohol
2. Don't abuse drugs
3. Don't smoke (cigaretts and the like)
4. Eat move live fresh fruits and vegetables.
5. Eat less process foods and meats.
Now all of this is good advice, although there is a right way and wrong way to do anything. I saw an excellent book with a good 8 step plan. Search Amazon for: The Magic Of Mother Nature's Healing Foods. I liked it.
